Top 10 Education Websites

As a digital agency located in the middle of a college town in Greenville, NC. The Red Shark Digital team has taken it upon ourselves to discuss the 10 best education websites across North and South Carolina.

1. University of Mount Olive

With over 300 pages recently added to the site, the University of Mount Olive website holds tons of content. We created a locations hub that features degree programs, contact information, and requirements for all locations. This provides a one-stop source of information for each location to build program interest and attract potential non-traditional students.

2. SC Technical College System

SC Technical College System’s website offers tons of resources for students as well as faculty and staff. There are visually appealing sliders that catch the user's attention visiting the website who may be interested in a technical college. The site also offers a list of colleges with a simple, easy-on-the-eyes graphic that maps out the specific locations. My personal favorite page on this site is the System Impact page. There is an animated progress graphic that reloads as you refresh the page.

3. Children’s World Learning Center

The Children’s World website takes advantage of the abundance of colors that children love. Their layout resembles paper from a notebook and details descriptions of the programs and curriculum offered at the learning center. Children's World is easily navigable and resourceful for parents of young children. Testimonials and reviews of other parents are featured on the header to show Children's World excellent reputation.

4. Louisburg College

Louisburg College’s website is a clean, easily navigable site with tons to offer. The homepage features click-through graphics to easily apply, make a payment, or donate to the college. There are tons of resources for academics and campus life. Quick clicks redirect you to their portals, dining, stores, and more. Even with a lot of information, Louisburg College’s site does not overwhelm or confuse users.

5. Teacher Education Division of the Council for Exceptional Children

On this site, you will find tons of resources including legislative updates, information from TED’s committees, caucuses, special interest groups, and state subdivisions. With two navigation bars that feature lots of content and an easily readable font size, this website is chock-full of information while still keeping it simple. Furthermore, the quality of the photos on the site is eye-catching. The website also features an embedded Twitter page for TED CEC.

6. Fayetteville Child Care Center

The Fayetteville Child Care Center website is wonderful for parents because it keeps an abundance of information in one place. Their programs and curriculum are all listed together from infant to pre-k academy, as well as clubs and enrichment programs. This is great because parents can look forward and see what their children will be learning for all of their years in the childcare program. The website also features biographies with quotes from the director and assistant director from each location. Parents will love this one!

7. Building Blocks Early Education Centers

The Building Blocks Early Education Centers website shows large-scale images of children enjoying their time playing, reading, and learning across the top of every page. The bright font colors help to organize different topics to keep the webpages looking clean and concise. Parents will easily be able to find everything they need on this site, including downloadable documents like an enrollment packet and a parent handbook. The content on this site includes important information that parents will find valuable.

8. The Partnership for Children Wayne County

The Partnership for Children Wayne County website has all of its information on one page with a navigation bar that makes it all easy to find. The navigation bar will scroll down for you depending on what you click, so if you are looking for something specific, all it takes is a click of a button. It is also impressive that such a great amount of information is able to be organized so nicely on one page, with plenty of redirecting links full of content.

9. Edgecombe Community College

The Edgecombe Community College website is packed with resources, my personal favorite being their Library/Learning Resource Center page that features a preview of book covers that are available in their libraries. The speed of this website is impeccable, not to mention the neat organization of the tons of pages their site has to offer.

10. Carolina Friends School

The Carolina Friends School website utilizes drop-down links from the navigation bar that feature a photo and description of what type of information you will receive under that specific heading. The site provides all the information you may need without being too wordy and overwhelming your eyes with too many words on a page. There are also text boxes of testimonials along the bottom of many of the pages, giving each page an extra bit of content.
