Hi! My name is Vanessa Garcia-Mora, and I am the new marketing intern at Red Shark Digital, a digital marketing agency, Greenville, NC. I am from Raleigh, NC, but I have been in Greenville, NC, for the past three years, pursuing a degree in marketing at East Carolina University (ECU).

Journey So Far

Growing up, I was always very artistic and paid close attention to detail. I was always the kid in art class who got asked, "Can you draw this for me?" or was often asked to provide feedback on visual aspects. I was also told by my teachers that I was a great storyteller and that I had a unique approach to tackling things.

Although I was aware of these things, marketing was never a path I knew about, let alone considered taking. So, I had a difficult time deciding what to do after high school graduation. Did I want to go to culinary school and become a chef? Did I want to continue in school and become a doctor, a lawyer, or an FBI agent? After researching various career paths, I discovered marketing and later realized that my true passion lies in creating things and positively impacting people through my work.

During my time at ECU, I joined the American Marketing Association. Due to the AMA, we have had the opportunity to tour and learn about RSD. From those trips, I have not only gained knowledge about the digital marketing Greenville, NC, agency but also developed an interest in being part of the team.

Likes:

• Doom-scrolling on social media: Even though I do it more than I should and use "It's part of my job" as an excuse, it's both a fun time and a great source of inspiration!
• Multitasking: My brain enjoys it. It helps me take breaks from other projects while feeding my need for productivity at the same time.
• Working out: I love to eat, so when I work out, I feel like it cancels out what I've eaten, but it also helps me manage stress and keep a clear mind.

Dislikes:

• Forgetting my headphones: I have them on for 80% of the day, if I forget them I will go back to get them.
• Traffic: Why is it a thing? Just keep driving
• When people don't get my references: It's not much of a dislike, but it's embarrassing when it happens.

Final Thoughts

I am incredibly excited and grateful about this opportunity at Red Shark Digital, a digital marketing agency Greenville, NC. where I can enhance my current skills while gaining new ones, refine my marketing process, and learn to cater to diverse audiences. I'm eager to see where this part of my journey takes me!
