Hey, guys! My name is Philip Bryant, and I am an intern here at Red Shark Digital, a digital advertising agency in Greenville, NC. I'm currently a sophomore attending East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, pursuing a degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing. I'm from Durham, NC, and have been born and raised in North Carolina, which has been an amazing experience so far.

My Journey Into the World of Marketing

Where It All Started

My love and passion for marketing began in November of 2024, when I started coming across YouTube videos of young agency owners explaining the ins and outs of paid advertising and how to start an agency. I was immediately hooked on the idea of starting one. I saw immense value in paid advertising, and it almost seemed like an unfair advantage once you learned such a valuable skill, so I began teaching myself. After a couple of months filled with YouTube videos, mini courses, and personal research, I felt ready to begin my journey and officially become an agency owner.

Building NovaMedia

I started my own agency called NovaMedia, a digital marketing agency with a primary focus on lead generation through paid ads targeting roofers in the United States. It was a very rough start, and I often went months without clients, but I learned a lot from the experience and am still continuing to learn to this day.

East Carolina University and Gaining Experience

Not too long after starting my agency, I began attending East Carolina University as a freshman, where I got to be much more hands-on with businesses in the Greenville area. It was an amazing experience. I began looking for more ways to sharpen my skills and learn new things, especially in areas like SEM in Greenville, NC, so I could bring that value back to my business and increase the quality of my work.

Landing at Red Shark Digital

Around that time, the school decided to launch its first marketing agency in connection with the American Marketing Association, an incredible club that I am a part of here at ECU. The opportunity sounded perfect for what I was looking for, so I applied for an internship, got the position, and spent the remainder of my freshman year gaining immense experience. I worked on and managed different projects that contributed to client success. That internship and my connection with the American Marketing Association ultimately helped me land this internship with Red Shark Digital, one of the top digital advertising agencies in Greenville, NC, which I am incredibly excited about. I cannot wait to see everything I will learn and accomplish with this fantastic agency!

• Sports: Love staying active. It's fun and keeps my mind off things for a while.
