So we’re all familiar with bees, right? So whether you’ve seen the Bee Movie or not, you should know that a bee’s main goal in life is to collect pollen and then bring it back to the hive, where it is then turned into honey. A bee will do this routine until it dies or prematurely stings something for pissing it off. But, the most important takeaway from a bee's life, is the ability to consistently find pollen with the sole purpose of creating sweet, delicious honey. Now get this… this same principle can be applied to small businesses. As a small business, you need to be able to consistently find your customers (pollen) and then convert them to sales (honey).
After thinking about this analogy for a solid 30 minutes, I realized that the easiest way to stay relevant and keep generating new customers is to have a top-tier website. Web design is the driving force that can get your business as much or as little honey as the amount of effort you put into it.
A common misconception amongst small business owners is that the top priority is to make the website look fuego. Looks are important, don’t get me wrong, but they’re not everything. Wow, I guess websites are a lot like finding a girl you’re attracted to, but also like to chill with. With that being said, your website should be easy to navigate. Think of it as if you’re starting a conversation with someone you’ve been crushing on and then you miraculously find out that you have a ton in common, and it’s easy.
Now, imagine that the conversation you had earlier went horribly, horribly wrong and you somehow found a way to insult her dead grandmother and call her feet fat. That’s what it feels like to navigate a poorly designed website. I’m talking about those websites that you can’t find the products you’re interested in, can’t check out, can’t click into. Just bad. The ideal website is user-friendly and super easy to navigate. Once your website has been redesigned, your customers can browse easier, checkout faster, and bring your site to the top of the search results. That’s the power of good design.
Now I’d even venture to say, poorly designed websites are the equivalent to Tinder girls. There, I said it. Now, here at Red Shark, we have worked with lots of different businesses, all in different industries, that have had some rough websites. So, we brush our teeth, put on a clean shirt, and roll up our sleeves as we go give their website some much-needed love. We then focus in on what is best about their business: the services they offer, the amenities they offer, the benefits of their location, their experiences and accomplishments of their staff, and so forth. We then work with them to design a unique site that is easy for anyone to navigate their way through. After that, the folks who were bouncing from their sites before are now sticking around. This just goes to show that love is real, and you can get it by having a nice, friendly site. If you need help with web design in Greenville, NC, don't hesitate to contact Red Shark Digital.
